        Covered Instruction Area

On our grounds we have a large covered area that offers protection from rain and burning sun during instruction and also protects young puppies from the elements while they and their owners learn the first steps towards becoming a well behaved dog.

The surrounding gravel area offers ampel room for training different classes and disciplines for both novice and more experiences dogs and handlers.

        Agility & Dog Sports Field

The first thing you will notice when approaching the On Q K9 Training facilities, is the fenced field filled with agility obstacles, ramps and tunnels that gets both dogs and handlers excited. The ever changing lay out gives agility enthusiast and competition oriented dogs and handlers the opportunity to learn and train on competition grade lay out and set up. A great area to get the blood pumping for both dog and handler.

        On Q Acres

Also on the property, behind the house and instruction area, you will find the working farm where crops are growing and sheep are grazing.

Resident dog Dallas makes sure they graze only where they are supposed to graze while the Lama protects them from more curious intruders when Dallas is not around.

Andrea Richmond is the owner/operator and head trainer at On Q K9 Training, and has over 10 years of experience. Since 1999, she has owned and trained 3 shelter dogs and participated both competitively and recreationally in Agility, Obedience and Tracking. Andrea founded On Q K9 Training in 2008, after having obtained her designation from the internationally recognized Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. Noticing that many dogs and their people lacked confidence and skill when completing traditional obedience exercises, and knowing what an incredible difference having that foundation could make within the family and larger community, Andrea created the Focus on Fun program.

Providing students with a solid foundation on which to build, Focus on Fun is made up of traditional obedience exercises adapted for use in everyday situations with your dog. It is simple, safe and effective - and fun!
Committed to helping dogs and the people who love them form lasting partnerships, Andrea is a a member of both the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers and the Canadian Association of Professional Pet Dog Trainers. She also holds a certificate in Dogsafe Canine First Aid.
